Last week we took our annual trip to the blueberry farm, one of my favorite summer outings! In the past we have picked at C.N. Smith Farm and Ward’s Berry Farm, but this year we took our first trip to Tree-Berry Farm in Scituate. The weather was perfect, the kids were in happy, cooperative moods, and the blueberries were plentiful!
When I was young, we spent 2 weeks out of every summer at my family’s tiny Cape House in South Yarmouth. It was the best two weeks out of the year. One of my fondest memories of our time there is of my younger brother and I exploring the patch of woods next to the house, finding fireflies and capturing them in glass jars for the night to be our nightlights. It is such a perfect summer memory.

Summer means a lot of things in our house… family time, trips to the beach, ice cream, barbeques, s’mores and more, but it also means summer reading time! I do my best to get the kids motivated and excited about keeping up their reading over the summer, and adding a few new books to their shelves always helps! To help out with your summer reading lists, we’re excited to announce that Bright Horizons is giving one lucky reader $100 worth of books!
Summer is just around the corner, and the number of days left until school lets out is getting wonderfully small! If you (and your kiddos) are looking forward to the lazy, unscheduled days of summer as much as we are, you’ll love these fun Countdown to Summer ideas posted by Shannon over at The Enchanted Yankee.
