Halloween Photo Tips from Ladybug Photography

Now that the beach days are over, it’s time to start thinking about how to capture the best photos of your ghosts & goblins. Try out these tips & tricks to get ghoulish Halloween photos from the ladies at Ladybug Photography:

1. Start Halloween photos early. This helps take the stress out of Halloween night. Take them at the local pumpkin patch
(have them wear their costume), school party or Halloween playdates.

2. Capture every moment: Carving pumpkins, detail of the costumes, before and after shots of the loot bags. Capture your child getting into the spirit of their costume. Action shots are more entertaining then standing still in their costumes.

3. Taking your photos at dusk helps with blurry photos, redeye problems. Set your camera to automatic or night feature (if available). Remember to turn on the red-eye reduction feature on your camera.

4. Here is a ghoulish idea. Take a photo of your child in front of a mirror, it’s double the trouble.

5. Hold a flashlight under your child’s chin and have them make funny faces, scary faces or ghoulish grin like my daughter’s.

So now that you have all these tips ahead of time, don’t get spooked by Halloween photos this year!
