Creating a Fun Thanksgiving Kids Table

November 15, 2011

Planning and setting the kids table for Thanksgiving is both fun and necessary in our house for the adults to enjoy a quiet{ish} meal on Turkey Day.  Keeping little hands occupied both before and during dinner is well worth the time it takes to put together a fun centerpiece and print off a few activity pages!  Here are a few ideas I’m using for inspiration this year:

  1. Pinecone Turkey Crayon Holder from Catch My Party
  2. Activity Placemat from
  3. All About Me Placemat from Better Homes & Gardens
  4. Printable Turkey Trivia Cards from Alphamom
  5. Make Your Own Hat Station from

  1. Fruit Gobbler from, a cute – edible appetizer or centerpiece for your kids’ table.
  2. Sailboat Treat Holders from Sleek Shindigs – Fill with pretzels or nuts for pre-dinner snacks, or sweets for an after meal treat.
  3. Paper Bag Turkey from One Charming Party (This was our kids centerpiece last year, it was so cute I needed to post again!)

  1. Turkey Cupcakes from Amazing Moms
  2. Acorn Cupcakes from Little Page Turners
  3. Pumpkin Spice Whoopie Pies from TomKat Studio
  4. Marshmallow Pilgrim Hats from – We made these last year, they were a big hit with the kids and SO easy to make.

More kids table tips:

  • Supply {washable} crayons, either in a central container or at each place setting.
  • Use a large piece of butcher paper as your tablecloth.  Kids can doodle during dinner, and you won’t care if they spill.
  • Leave a small pumpkin at each kids place setting for them to color as they wish.
  • Print out Thanksgiving themed coloring pages to have on hand while you’re doing food prep or for mid-meal coloring.
