{Around Town} Sing-a-Long Sound of Music

imageOn Sunday, January 8, from 3-5pm, the Inly School in Scituate will come alive with the sound of music, as students and music lovers of all ages come together to enjoy the interactive phenomenon known as “Sing-a-Long-a Sound of Music.”

Sing-a-Long-a Sound of Music is a screening of the classic Julie Andrews film musical in glorious, full-screen technicolor, complete with subtitles so that the whole audience can sing along.  More than just a movie, this professional event has a huge following, with 18,000 people filling the Hollywood Bowl for three years in a row.

The family event starts with a vocal warm-up led by the evening’s host, who also takes the audience through their complimentary “magic moments pack,” containing various props to be used at strategic points throughout the film.

This fun family-oriented event is open to the public. Please RSVP before Friday, January 6 by emailing the name of the attending family and number of guests to familyevents@inlyschool.org.  A suggested donation of $10 per family may be provided at the door.

Inly is located at 46 Watch Hill Drive off Route 123 near the junction of Route 3A in Scituate. It currently enrolls students from 20 towns on the South Shore and south of Boston. For directions, see www.inlyschool.org.
