{Recipes} Apples, Apples, Apples!

We had a great afternoon in picking apples in the orchards at Brooksby Farm this past weekend, a truly fun fall tradition.  Now comes the delicious part, what to make with all those apples!

1. Caramel Apples – We went the easy route this year with a simple recipe from allrecipes.com that uses store bought caramels {mainly because I don’t own the candy thermometer necessary to make caramel from scratch} and they were soooo good!  The kids had a blast rolling their apples in toppings of their choice {chopped candy corns, peanuts, sprinkles}.

2. Apple Crisp – To me apple crisp screams FALL!  Too bad my daughter and I are the only ones in my house that eat this dessert, and I generally end up eating the entire pan…

3. Apple Pie – Don’t wait until Thanksgiving to whip up a piping hot apple pie for the family!

4. Applesauce – Easier to make than you think, home made applesauce is a real treat, whether it’s at snack time or for dessert.  Check out this great recipe from Pinch of Yum.
