Keep the kids busy today with this fun noisemaker craft from Alphamom and you’ll be all set to celebrate New Year’s Eve!
What you’ll need:
- Empty raisin boxes
- Silver spray paint (optional)
- Popsicle sticks
- Rice, pasta, beans, or any other hard bits you can find in your pantry that shake and make noise
- Glitter, sequins, stickers, etc.
This project involves a little bit of prep on your part. Paint your boxes in silver (or color of your choice), either with spray paint of poster paint. Another option is to cover boxes in construction paper.
Once boxes are dry and ready, attach a popsicle stick to each for the handle. (Alphamom recommends reinforcing with tape).
Let the kids have at the boxes with glue, glitter, sequins, stickers, and whatever other decorations you have on hand.
When they’re done decorating, drop a small handful of pasta, rice beans (your filler) in and seal with tape. Now you’re ready to ring, shake and rattle in the new year!
