February Vacation at the Zoo

Need to get out of the house during February vacation?  Head out to one of our beautiful local zoos for crafts, story time, animal encounters, and special camps!  The following information is brought to you by the Franklin Park Zoo, Stone Zoo, and Roger Williams Park Zoo.

Looking to shake off the winter cold? How about a trip to the Tropics during February school vacation week? Join us for our Habitats/Ecosystems/Biomes, Oh My! program, focusing on different biomes and ecosystems each day. The vacation week program session will run Tuesday, February 18 through Friday, February 21, and include a combination of animal encounters, arts and crafts, behind-the-scenes tours, games and activities.  This program will be held from 9am-3pm daily, for ages 6-11.  Cost is $200 per member/$250 per non-member. Beat the humdrum winter routine and come out to Stone Zoo during February school vacation week (Feb 17-24). Watch North American river otters, Mexican gray wolves, snow leopards and others have fun, and learn about neat animal adaptations to the winter temperatures. Just like you, animals can get bored when they’re cooped up all winter, come and see all the creative things the zoo does to keep animals active and engaged throughout the winter! There will also be crafts and storytelling for guests to enjoy.

Activity Schedule:

  • 11:00am – Snow leopard zookeeper encounter
    This is an opportunity to learn more about these fascinating animals and ask a zookeeper questions. Meet at the exhibit.
  • 11:30am – Animal Encounter in the Animal Discovery Center
    Visit the Animal Discovery Center and meet one of its residents up close.
  • 1:30pm – Animal Encounter in the Animal Discovery Center
    Visit the Animal Discovery Center and meet one of its residents up close.
  • 2:00pm – Mexican gray wolf zookeeper encounter
    This is an opportunity to meet one of the zookeepers who cares for the Mexican gray wolves and ask questions. Meet at the exhibit.

ROGER WILLIAMS PARK ZOO
