WORLD WIDE DAY OF PLAY
The day of play is an annual event designed to get kids and parents to turn off the television and play, especially outdoors. We strongly encourage you to get out - and come to the museum's Wild Place to build an epic fort, balance on the beams, or create natural art!
FAMILY AUTISM EVENT
Sunday, October 8th, 12:30-2:30pm
Drumming is fun, and clinicians tell us that drum therapy helps increase engagement, build social skills and reduce stress. This season our family autism event will feature a special musical activity with All Hands Drumming outdoors in The Wild Place (weather permitting). All three floors of the Museum will be open, as always to provide a quieter option for play. This program is free of charge to all families with kids on the autism spectrum, but pre-registration is required. Call the Museum at 508-230-3789.
FRIDAY NIGHT SCIENCE
Friday, October 13th
Discover the strength of air with our scientific wind tunnel! Explore the wonders of wind and the awesome effects of air flow as you learn about velocity, gravity, friction and acceleration. Test lift, drag and thrust and understand the science behind parachutes and helicopters.
Saturday, October 21st, 2-6pm
Bring your little monsters to the museum for a boo-nanza of family friendly activities including myst-eerie-ous experiments in the mad science lab, spirit-lifting crafts, ghoulish games, creepy crawly animals and lots of extras! Nothing will be scary, it's all about fun. And of course, costumes are encouraged!
