Boston Harbor Alliance Kids Program 2011 – Tons of free activities for kids and families, runs from June 5 – Sept 1.

Cape Cod Baseball LeagueNo tickets needed, donations are requested at the games.

Castle Island in South Boston.  Explore Fort Independence, go swimming, check out the playground, and grab a bite to eat at Sullivan’s while you’re there.

Free Fridays at the Hatch ShellFridays through August 26th.

Free Fun Fridays – Get free admission to local museums and attractions every Friday, all summer long, courtesy of the Highland Foundation.  No registration or tickets required.  See the entire 2011 schedule.

Free Outdoor Movies at the Hingham Shipyard – Thursdays from July 7 – August 25, see free movies at dusk at the amphitheater behind Hingham Beerworks.

Free Outdoor Movies in Weymouth – Free movies on Thursday nights in August at the Ralph Talbot Amphitheater next to Town Hall.

Movies Under the Starts at The Pinehills – Enjoy FREE outdoor movies on the big screen every Thursday night in August.  Bring a blanket, a chair and the whole family for this special, free midsummer event.

Nature Trail & Cranberry Bog, a half mile scenic trail located behind the Bass Pro Shoppes at Patriot Place in Foxboro.  Open dawn to dusk, 7 days a week.  Stop by the Bass Pro Shoppes after and take a peek at their huge fish tank and fish pools, tons for the kids to see!

Spray Pool at the Boston Common Frog Pond -   Open every day from 11am-6pm until Labor Day.  Hop on over to the Frog Pond Café and enjoy sandwiches, snacks, refreshments and frozen yogurt.

Summer Sensation at Patriot Place – Free family events each day of the week, including story times, bouncy houses, movie deals, cake decorating, puppet shows and more.

Summer Fun at Isis Parenting Center in Hanover, July 1 – August 31.  Loads of free activities, including story times, play groups, face painting, bubble time and more.

Waterfire in Providence, RI.  An award winning sculpture made up of over 80 bonfires installed on the 3 rivers of downtown Providence.

MUSEUMS, ZOOS & ATTRACTIONS:

Capron Park Zoo in North Attleboro.  Inexpensive admission, great little splash park for hot days, and has a park right outside, perfect for picnicking and playing after the zoo.

Children’s Museum in EastonSummer Drop-in Days are a series of fun, educational events held each summer in the Wild Place, the Museum’s outdoor learning center. Thursdays and Fridays from July 7 – August 26, 10am-3pm.  No registration required, free with museum admission.

Mendon Drive-In, Box office open Friday-Saturday at 6:30, Sunday-Thursday at 7pm, $20 per carload.

Mystic Aquarium, Mystic CT.  Open 9am-5pm.   

New England Wildlife Center – Stop by the Wild Things Play Group, Tuesdays at 1pm, featuring storytelling, music and movement, arts & crafts, games and live animals. $5 per child.

Plimouth Plantation & Mayflower II

Roger Williams Park Zoo in Providence, RI.  Go on a Sunset Safari June 29, July 13, July 27 & August 10.

South Shore Natural Science Center – Family friendly events and programs all summer long
